Sr. Consultant
Sara Meirowitz is an experienced healthcare philanthropy executive with more than 15 years of leadership in nonprofit development and institutional advancement. She is recognized for building strong donor relationships, leading effective fundraising programs, and working in close partnership with organizational leadership to align philanthropy with mission and strategic priorities.
Sara most recently served as Chief Development Officer at Newport Hospital, part of the Brown University Health system. In this role, she led a comprehensive fundraising program and more than doubled annual philanthropic revenue within two years. She secured and stewarded multiple seven-figure gifts and was a trusted partner to clinical, operational, and executive leaders in advancing key institutional initiatives.
Earlier in her career, Sara held senior development roles at Newport Hospital, the Newport County YMCA, and the New Bedford Whaling Museum. Across these organizations, she strengthened contributed revenue, expanded grant and corporate support, and enhanced donor engagement strategies. Her professional foundation also includes leadership roles in education and cultural institutions, where she managed large teams, complex programs, and significant public funding.
Sara holds a master’s degree from the University of Rhode Island and has completed executive fundraising training at the Indiana University Lilly School of Philanthropy. She remains actively engaged in community leadership and board service throughout Rhode Island.
